Racing Go Karts
Racing go karts are made to make you go fast, pure and simple. But not just fast in a straight line – it’s not a drag model after all – you need speed with maneuverability for the track that can let you pass other drivers and have an open road in front of you. There are many types of models available to the racing hobbyist for any age.
Before even thinking of models, there are a few basic features to look for in these models. You’ll want a low profile to your unit, probably only a few inches off the ground. You’ll also need a body that aerodynamic so the wind slips easily off the body of the vehicle without any resistance. Additionally, you’ll want some safety features. Yes, you’re very unlikely to flip over, but when racing, you can still crash and at even slow speeds this can be very dangerous. So, make sure you have bumpers on the side of your vehicle just in case a slight collision does occur. This will also keep the plastic body of your vehicle from cracking.
Next, are the features to keep the driver safe. The seat should have a body harness to keep the upper body as well as the lower from shaking harshly in a collision. The body should be set low and in the center also. Finally, for the drivers should also have a helmet to make sure they are safe for any possible accident.
Once the basic features are there as well as the amenities for safety, you’ll have a choice between electric and gas. Each has its own drawbacks and benefits to consider.
